Dr. Cabin has an increasing number of patients who travel to him for surgery, both from within the United States and internationally. Although traveling for surgery requires a significant commitment from patients, our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible.
Virtual Consultations
Consultations and pre-operative appointments can almost always be performed virtually, via secure teleconference. So patients normally only require one trip, for the surgery itself.
Occasionally certain decisions on surgical options need to be decided after an in person evaluation. Even in such cases, the final plan can be formulated when the patient arrives for the surgical visit.
Planning
Your Trip
If you are interested in traveling for surgery with Dr. Cabin, you can usually perform your consultation and all requisite pre-operative appointments virtually. For more information on this process, click here.
You will be required to arrive at least one day prior to your surgery for an in-person evaluation by Dr. Cabin, including photography and final surgical planning. Depending on the type of surgery performed, you will be required to stay in town anywhere from one day to two weeks.

Our office is located in the West End area of Washington, DC, with convenient access to two major airports—Washington Dulles International (IAD) and Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA). We are also very close to Union Station, the region’s primary Amtrak hub.
