Fight the Signs of Aging
We all deal with the signs of aging, but thanks to the filler options from Dr. Jonathan Cabin, you can rejuvenate your appearance. Filler options can improve wrinkles and folds and increase the fullness of your face for a younger, fresher look.
If you want to define the appearance of your face, fillers can give you results you’ll love. Dr. Cabin uses fillers to fill and shape lips, cheeks, under the eyes, and more.
Misshapen and under-volumized lips can take away from overall facial harmony and balance. Careful and targeted filler application can be used to correct these issues, providing subtle volume and aesthetic shape the lips. The goal is to naturally enhance the lips, building upon a patient’s natural structure to maximize the aesthetic quality of the lower face and balance the lips with other facial features.
Depending on patient desire and goals, Dr. Cabin uses both cannula and needle techniques for lips, providing targeted, micro-injections of filler to re-shape and volumize. Dr. Cabin does not believe in over-volumizing lips (the “duck” look). Instead, the overall goal is a more harmonious lower face, but without any signs of augmentation or injection.
Aging involves not only the descent of skin, but also the loss of volume. This can be particularly noticeable under the eyes, where the combination of undereye volume loss and cheek descent causes hollowness. Some may hear this referred to as a “tear-trough deformity”.
Dr. Cabin uses a select few fillers – strictly employing the canula technique - to re-volumize the eyes, bringing a smoother transition between cheek and eyelid. Using a carefully-developed fanning and layering technique, micro-droplets of filler are deposited in overlapping fine aliquots to avoid lump or bump formation. By approaching the lower eye with a canula from below, swelling and pain are also minimized, and bruising is completely eliminated.
Temple hollowness can be related to aging, genetic factors or disease. Although rarely addressed, Dr. Cabin believes that filling the temples can make a dramatic difference in reversing the signs of aging, and lead to the illusion of wider-set eyes.
Dr. Cabin uses a more robust, longer-lasting filler – like Voluma® or Sculptra® – to rejuvenate the temples, dramatically addressing aging of the upper face. The filler is injected into a safe area beneath the muscle to provide subtle, contoured enhancement of the temples.
Cheek filler can be broken down into two distinct areas – medial cheek (near the nose) and lateral cheek (near the ear). Depending on patient preference and aesthetic need, filler can be placed in either location.
Lateral cheek filler can enhance the natural definition of the cheek bones, projecting the upper face outward and creating more aesthetic balance with the jaw below. This type of injection can also subtly lift the entirety of the cheek, leading to an anti-aging effect that resonates throughout the face. Dr. Cabin uses his needle micro-aliquot approach to precisely target the lateral cheek, hand-molding the filler to create a natural projection.
Most-requesting by patients of Asian descent, medial cheek filler can augment a less-defined midface, creating a rounder look from the side profile. For safety and precision reasons, medial cheek fillers should be performed only with a canula.
The jaw extends from the angle – just below the ear – the chin. Patients can develop volume loss in various locations along the jaw, or desire a more contoured jaw shape.
Dr. Cabin uses a canula technique to layer and mold filler to the jaw in areas of deficit, replacing volume and contouring the jaw to a patient’s specifications.
The chin balances the lower portion of the face, providing a counterpoint to the nose and serving to elongate the neck. In certain patients, an under-projected chin can lead to the appearance of a larger nose and/or a less defined neck.
As an alternative to a silicone chin implant, Dr. Cabin can project the chin in minutes, using carefully placed, robust filler.
